Make the museum your classroom.

Strengthen your classroom curricula with a unique spectrUM science experience. These field trips provide exciting and innovative hands-on learning to children of all ages.

Groups of 10 or more must book a field trip in advance by calling 728-STEM or emailing Caitlin Ervin.

Educator Guided Field Trips

Explore our featured exhibits and participate in an educator-guided activities designed to meet Next Generation Science Standards.

Length: 90 minutes

Cost: $5.00 per student (minimum of $75)

Maximum of 35 students per visit

1 Free Chaperone for every 5 students.  Additional chaperones pay $3.50 each.

Free passes and memberships are not accepted for field trips.

Available Topics:

  • Electricity: What is electricity and how does it work?
  • Wildfire science: What causes wildfires and how do they impact flora and fauna?
  • Anatomy Lab: What systems does the human body have and how do they work?
  • Physics and Space: What forces impact us and our universe?
  • Chemistry: What is matter made out of and how do materials interact?

Title I schools in Missoula qualify for free field trips to spectrUM.

spectrUM Science Store
